Random Rambling

Our Generation, we have so much power, that we don’t realize it… Thru social media (whether it’s Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Youtube , Blogs etc) we are instantly connected to people and news from all over the world. With this blurb I hope I can reach out to you.

I’m a simple girl, born and raised in US. All throughout school grew up learning about US History (Bill of Rights etc etc). I know my rights such as freedom of religion, freedom of speech, a free press, and free assembly etc.  We grew up reciting the Pledge of Allegiance at school every single day.

“I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.”

With this Gaza / Israel 72 hr ceasefire (starting from August 4th, 2014) it got me thinking.

US, a 241 year old country since its Independence US wasn’t born out of United Kingdom hoohah,  heroes such as George Washington, Nathanael Greene, Thomas Paine, Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Jefferson and more fought for their rights and their land.

Some people tend to see violence as the best means to solve a conflict but freedom and justice can be achieved by peaceful means. Mahatma Gandhi’s devotion to a non-violent struggle and his ideas of passive resistance freed India, influenced many such as Martin Luther King Jr. who we honor till this day for bringing a courageous and prophetic voice to civil and human rights in US, and Nelson Mandela, who as a prisoner at Robben Island was able to set a nation free from its racial apartheid.

US being known as one of the superpowers, how is it that every single day we are watching on the news about harmless civilians being killed whether at night or UN shelters being blown off. Jeez if it was just the two armed forces fighting their asses off would have been a totally different thing but it’s not.

Damn didn’t know that Gaza women, children and elderly were the biggest enemy!!

Two years ago, in Dec 2012 there was a shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary school where 26 people died. 20 of those victims were children ages between 5-10 years old.  After this event, US lawmakers signed and passed the nation’s strictest gun control laws. As stated below by President Obama at the press conference after this horrific event.

“We cannot tolerate this anymore. These tragedies must end, and to end them, we must change.”

20 Children killed and laws are being stricter in US, yet more than 300 CHILDREN have died in Gaza since last month nothing has been done to resolve this problem.

My mind keeps going back to thinking that the people and children from Gaza who are facing this massacre now are going to grow up and come back with a vengeance, and only then these Fcuktards will to be blamed.

Martin Luther King Jr. said,

“True peace is not merely the absence of tension; it is the presence of justice.”

I speak about what I feel and that’s what I’ve written here. Writing this little blurb, I don’t know how many people will read this, but if you do let me know your views.
